Hepatitis C: The Last Chimpanzee Research BattlegroundResearch on chimpanzees is no longer necessary to fight many diseases. In HIV, they simply didn't prove useful; for malaria, better alternatives existed. But the one remaining exception, the ground over which the deciding scientific and ethical battles will be fought, is hepatitis C.
