The Cox TV Connect for iPad app that brings live TV streaming to the tablet while customers are at home has received another update that gives it some capabilities outside the house. While that doesn't include the aforementioned TV viewing, version 1.1.2 integrates remote DVR scheduling (previously left to the company's Mobile Connect phone apps) and allows access to the app and recently updated grid guide when the user is away from home. You'll still need to have the proper TV and internet packages from Cox to make it all go, but there's no additional charge for the app that's available at the source link below.

This is good news for Cox subscribers that actually can access the iPad app, maybe it would be bigger news if Cox let all their subscribers access it. For those select groups of subscribers, they no longer have to pull up two separate apps; they can find it all in one place. If their subscribers’ life is like mine, I spend so little in front of my television that I forget what a great picture it has and I also forget to set new timers a lot. That is where having a remote DVR app comes in handy. I use the Dish Remote Access app to maintain my DVR, I can add and remove timers and I am also able to delete old recordings. Things have gotten better for me since I upgraded to the Hopper after talking to a coworker at Dish about its functionality, have Primetime Anytime available to me reduces my timers by 60% which cuts down on conflicts and let’s me watch even more shows on national networks.
