Crosswise communication has the horizontal flow of information with people on the different levels that have no direct reporting relationship. Cross relationships exist between personal in one division & personal of equal, lower or superior status in their divisions. This type of communication is used to speed up information flow, to improve understanding & to co-ordinate efforts for the achievement of organizational objectives. This type of communication also occurs when individual members of different departments are grouped into task or project organization.
