Saqlain Mushtaq all praise for Sachin Tendulkar ? Cricket News Update

Saqlain Mushtaq, the former Pakistan cricketer, has paid tribute to Sachin Tendulkar upon his retirement from One Day International (ODI) cricket and said that the little-master is a perfect role-model for the upcoming players.

The 39-year-old cricketer made his international debut in 1989 and held India?s batting together for almost 23 years. The legendary cricketer however, has been out of form since the title triumph in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 at home.

In last few months, there has been an ever-increasing pressure on the batting-maestro to call it a day from international sport as a number of sporting analysts feel that the cricketer from Mumbai has gone past his best at the highest stage of the game.

Consequently, Tendulkar announced his retirement from ODIs earlier this month, but the great batsman will continue to represent the Men in Blue in the longer format of the sport.

While speaking exclusively to Pakpassion, the former Pakistan off-spinner expressed that Tendulkar is among the greatest players to have played the 50-over format and feels that no cricketer would ever be able to surpass the batting-maestro?s achievements, who served his country for a number of years consistently.

Apart from the former Indian skipper?s accomplishments as a batsman, Saqlain believes that Tendulkar has been a great ambassador of the game as he has had a scandal-free career.

?The world of one day cricket has suffered a huge loss with Sachin Tendulkar?s retirement from one day internationals. There will never be another cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar,? Saqlain expressed. ?He?s been at the top of the game for twenty three years which is simply amazing and the way he has conducted himself throughout his career has been exemplary and a lesson to all young cricketers around the world.??

The former cricketer from Lahore has immense respect for the little-master but understands that every player has to hang his boots one day.

?Tendulkar has been an icon not just in India but all around the world and I?ve always held him in high regard. But all good things come to end, nothing goes on forever,? he added.
